Our Story
Purrs and Biscuits was started in 2018 but really gained traction almost by accident in 2021 with a loose vision to provide volunteer colony caregivers the ability to go on vacation knowing their colony cats would be in experienced and reliable hands while they were away. What began as a small Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) colony support
Purrs and Biscuits was started in 2018 but really gained traction almost by accident in 2021 with a loose vision to provide volunteer colony caregivers the ability to go on vacation knowing their colony cats would be in experienced and reliable hands while they were away. What began as a small Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) colony support system between 3 caregivers, has grown by word-of-mouth amongst our Hyattsville neighbors into a full service daily drop-in cat sitting business.
We're proud to say that all profits from caring for your cats goes directly toward the care of other cats. When you hire Purrs & Biscuits to care for your own furry family, you can feel great knowing that the money you spent goes toward helping other cats.

Meet Lisa
Our Story
Lisa is the quintessential "cat lady" archetype. She works up front at local animal hospital and has 5 special needs rescue cats at home. Lisa volunteers for A Cat's Life Rescue (ACLR) both fostering street cats, serving as a regular go-between for incoming supply donations, and occasionally assists with their TNR program. She also mana
Lisa is the quintessential "cat lady" archetype. She works up front at local animal hospital and has 5 special needs rescue cats at home. Lisa volunteers for A Cat's Life Rescue (ACLR) both fostering street cats, serving as a regular go-between for incoming supply donations, and occasionally assists with their TNR program. She also manages an established colony of TNR cats.
Together, Lisa and Cat have fostered 31 cats of varying age, placed 29 into forever homes and “foster failed” (AKA adopted) the other 2 (Little Bear and Maze). Lisa also supports other ACLR fosters and colony care givers by providing support for their fosters and colonies when they need go out of town.
Lisa has had at least 1 cat (usually more) since the day she was born. She has been providing drop-in cat sitting services for her Hyattsville neighbors since 2018.
From kittens to senior cats, she has tons of experience caring for cats at every stage of state of life. She is comfortable giving medications and administering fluids. As such, Purrs & Biscuits has attracted quite a few medical needs clients.
Lisa is a perpetual learner who prides herself in being incredibly reliable, affordable, knowledgeable and impeccably trustworthy. At the end of the day, she just has a big soft spot in her heart for all the kitties.

Having grown up on a small sheep farm, Cat has been caring for animals her whole life. She currently works from home as a Systems Engineer while her home office doubles as the foster cat room.
Cat has a true gift in her ability to work gently to bring out the shyest of the shy cats and also earn the slow trust of the "spiciest" kittens in the Drama Club.
Her specialty is socializing the kittens and adult fosters to prepare them for a life of cuddles and love in their forever homes. Put another way, her main job is to be a warm human kitty pillow and on occasion, sometimes the foster felines will even allow her to use her own keyboard. Some days the struggle is real!

She’s also very thorough in gathering information about my cats’ needs, like medication and schedules, and does a great job of administering meds.
One example of her incredible work was when one of my cats passed in January of 2025. He had been sick and declined suddenly and rapidly while I was away–but thankfully Lisa was there to take care of him.
She was attentive, communicative, compassionate, and went well above and beyond in her care as well as ensuring my other cats got the attention they needed. She was a blessing during a very difficult time. I can’t recommend her enough!

She gives each cat exactly the kinds of cuddles they love. They both adore her and come running to greet her when she arrives.
She coordinated seamlessly with our house-sitter, brings in the mail, and takes the garbage to the curb on trash day. She de-mats our long-haired cat while petting him and even took him to the vet for help with clean-up when he had a litter box disaster.
She texts us daily reports and warms our hearts with pictures when we’re missing them. It’s wonderful to not have to worry about how things are going at home when we are far away. We love Lisa and so do Cappy and Zoey!
